3rd Annual Technology Showcase

Yasher Koach and congratulations to the hard-working Netivot students, staff and administration upon the great success of Monday evening's 3rd Annual Technology Showcase: An Evening of Innovation!

Teachers and students masterfully demonstrated the various technologies they are using in their classrooms. Attendees were very well informed and inspired by the hands-on and interactive demos. Parents especially loved seeing how technology is enhancing the classroom experience, as well as the overview of the educational technology program at Netivot.

Thank you to all the parents, friends and family who gave of their time and attended Monday night's event, making our 3rd Annual Tech Night such a success. We are already looking forward to the next year's program!

Using Chrome Extensions for Real Life Math Applications

As a component of their Measurement unit in math, students in 6G learned about how to calculate the area and perimeter of different types of shapes.  We discussed real life applications of area and perimeter and how useful this knowledge can be when we grow up.  Using the Floorplanner Chrome extension, students designed their dream house.  They calculated the area and perimeter of the different rooms using the formulas they learned in class.   Finally, the used the Screencastify extension to record a screencast explanation of their work.

Check out some samples of their work below:
