Hour of Code @ Netivot

This week (December 5-9), students and teachers around the world will participate in the Hour of Code.  This is a global event designed to introduce students to computer science and provide them with an opportunity to learn the basics of coding.

#Netivot students in SK to Grade 8 will participate in a one hour introduction to coding either on an online platform or the iPad.  This introduction is geared to engage students with coding and ignite their curiosity to continue exploring it independantly.

Some of the resources we will use include Kodable, Tynker, Code.org and Scratch.

Chanukah Fun with JI Tap

Students in Morah Chana's Kitah Alef South are so excited for Chanukah!  They used the JI Tap app on the iPad to create a digital poster related to either the story of Chanukah or the customs of the holiday.  In addition to this, each student added an audio component to their poster by singing their favourite Chanukah song.

Check out their amazing creations!

Grade 2 Animal Research Projects

Students in Ms. Rewald's Grade 2 class are learning about animals in different regions of the world.   The first part of this process involves researching facts about an animal of their choice using different mediums.  Using key words and a list of questions, students used the iPads to gather important facts about an animal of their choice.  Once their research is complete, students will create a presentation using text, audio and visual components in a presentation app of their choice.  Stay tuned!
